Grandmother Eagle is a highly personal work by Heiltsuk artist Bradley Hunt. In it he honours the multigenerational relationship between his matrilineal grandmother, his mother and himself. It is a tribute to this relationship. The Eagle is representative of his grandmother, an important woman in his life. Great care has been given to the carving of the female face in the shoulder joint that represents his mother. He has represented himself as the small Frog tucked into the tail feathers. The original was carved in Red Cedar and used to make the cast for this edition of 12 bronzes.
